The Days of our Lives recap for Tuesday, July 21, 2021, features Paulina Price (seemingly) seeing the error of her ways, the universe conspiring to prove Ciara Brady’s folly, and Ben Weston formulating an all-too-familiar plan.

Paulina (Jackée Harry) came calling to the Horton House and received a welcome benefiting an invading army. Paulina managed to (eventually) worm her way inside by claiming she had come bearing an apology…and if there’s one thing Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes) loves more than Tom and Alice’s couch, it’s being on the receiving end of someone else’s, “I’m sorry.” Maybe it’s because she spent about three decades being the one forced to offer them?

Later, Paulina gatecrashed a Carver/Grant family lunch and surprised the assemblage with her revelation that she’s halting the demolition of the Horton Town Square. Theo Carver (Cameron Johnson) praised his in-law; Abe Carver (James Reynolds) gave her the benefit of the doubt, and Lani Grant (Sal Stowers) told both men they were crazy – her auntie is obviously up to no good….that’s just her default setting.

DAYS Recap: The Universe’s Way

There were hits aplenty for a slap-happy Ciara (Victoria Konefal). First, her niece and her brother did their utmost to convince her to cancel her wedding to Theo. Then, she learns that Doug (Bill Hayes) and Julie, AND her mother will be no-shows at the ceremony. But she’s not about to take all of that as a sign.

He might have momentarily wavered, but Ben (Robert Scott Wilson) is now determined to keep his lady love from marrying another. But how to accomplish that goal? Why a good old-fashioned kidnapping of course. And wouldn’t you know it, there’s precedent already set for such action.

Chanel Dupree (Raven Bowens) is a work in progress, dedicated to learning from her mistakes. Case in point? She’s back on Eli Grant (Lamon Archey) and Lani’s couch, but she’s come prepared with a face mask – no more accidental glimpses of her brother-in-law’s *ahem* assets.

And Chanel is also woman enough to admit that she’s hurt by Allie’s rejection, and also remain steadfast in her decision to remain friends and business partners with her.
