The Days of Our Lives recap for May 11-15, 2020, features a whole host of characters wrestling with big decisions.

Days of Our Lives Recap Highlights

Life is complicated, and sometimes it forces us to make some really tough choices. And the fictional denizens of Salem are no different – though the choices they’re forced to make are usually far and away more melodramatic than the average Joes.

Take Zoey (Alyshia Osche). She had to weigh the pros and cons of breaking attorney-client privilege in order to see that true justice was served…though one could argue that she did it merely to stick it to Orpheus (George DelHoyo). That’ll teach him to question her legal prowess.

Whatever the reason, her confession to Rafe (Galen Gering) not only exonerated Maggie (Suzanne Rogers) of the murders of Adrienne (Judi Evans) and the actual Baby Mickey, but it also implicated the actual culprits – Orpheus (who was behind the wheel of Maggie’s car) and Evan (Brock Kelly).

Forget Me Not

Gabi (Camila Banus) was so desperate to regain her husband that she chose to inject Jake (Brandon Barash) with a syringe supposedly containing Rolf’s (William Utay) magical, memory restorative potion – but her plan was stymied by Ben (Robert Scott Wilson). Damn you, Ben! Now the ball’s in Jake’s court.

Gabi is sure that he is Stefan, and she’s sure that he’ll want to take the drug and regain his lost memories. But is that really the case? Does the surly, secret-keeping garage mechanic even have a spotty memory with gaps that need to be filled? Or is this all wishful thinking of Gabi’s part – and manipulation courtesy of Rolf?

Brady’s Choice

Meanwhile, Brady (Eric Martsolf) had to decide if he could actually say goodbye to Kristen and Rachel Isabella – the woman he loved and the daughter he thought had died – and let them walk out of his life for good?

Yes, yes he could. But it wasn’t an easy decision. There were a lot of tears, a lot of kissing. And just like that, the two most important women in his life were gone. At least he made the right call…right?

Here Comes The Bride

Ciara Alice Brady (Victoria Konefal) didn’t need time to ponder Ben’s proposal…it was a big fat YES! Now the only things she needs to worry about are wedding plans.

Her Kingdom For Her King

And finally, there’s Marlena (Deidre Hall). Will she chose to bow to Orpheus’ demand for cash in return for John’s (Drake Hogestyn) safe return? Undoubtedly.

DAYS Musing

Did Alyshia Ochse’s sudden assumption of the Zoey Burge’s role make you long for the days when a voice over artist would intone, “The role of [insert character name] is now being played by [insert name of new performer]”?

Abe: “Kate wouldn’t hurt anyone” Yea…tell that to Victor, the man she bludgeoned (nearly to death) with a fire poker and Chloe, the woman she poisoned (nearly to death). She’ll definitely HURT someone…she’s just really, really bad at killing them.

Eric to Brady: “What the hell is the matter with you?!” Letting Kristen disappear with a little girl…who’s recovering from a bone marrow transplant. She needs checkups and special treatments for years to come, and how do you think that she’s gonna accomplish that while she’s on the run with a criminal?” That’s…actually a really good point.

Sarah: “I am in no position to cast stones, Mom. I kidnapped a baby.” So did Maggie. Well, Janice wasn’t actually a baby, but when it appeared that Maggie would lose custody of the little girl that she had grown so fond of, she absconded with her and only Mickey could talk her down.

Hmmm. Maybe mother and daughter have more in common than they think they do. Days of Our Lives airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
