The Days of Our Lives recap for Thursday, May 28, 2020, featured Gabi pleading her case, Steve moping about, and Lani’s life turning upside down.
Gabi (Camila Banus) was in serious hot water but she stood her ground. She told anyone who would listen she was innocent, including (and especially) Jake (Brandon Barash). He paid her a visit to get clarity but came out even more confused. She claimed to love and adore him and swore she would show him the truth one day. He didn’t believe her, of course.
Later, Kate (Lauren Koslow) stopped by the station and Gabi told her the same thing. Jake was her Stefan and nothing would convince her otherwise. Not even Jake himself.
Was she wrong, though? Things over at the garage took another dangerous turn causing Ben (Robert Scott Wilson) to question who his boss really was. The goons showed up again and threatened Ben and Ciara’s lives. Ben was floored. He vowed to get to the bottom of things with Jake. When the mechanic returned he remained tight-lipped, prompting Ben to quit.
Over in the park, Lani’s (Sal Stowers) joy over her engagement was drowned out by pregnancy anxiety. She and Eli (Lamon Archey) rushed home to take a test, which was positive but they wanted to be sure. It was off the hospital to see Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) for absolute clarity, which they got. Yes, she was pregnant.
Eli was thrilled but Lani was not. Sure, she’d love to be a mom but she wasn’t sure she was ready to take the risk. She kept flashing back to losing David and feared she wouldn’t survive going through that again.
Speaking of Kayla, her two main men were gearing up to make their plays. Justin (Wally Kurth) was at Adrienne’s grave making peace with his past. She was the love of his life but it was time to move on. He asked for her permission to marry Kayla.
Meanwhile, Steve (Stephen Nichols) was moping around over at Hope’s house. She and Kate needled him about his feelings and forced him to admit he still loved Kayla. Hope pushed him to do the right thing and go after the love of his life. Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
