The Days of Our Lives recap for Thursday, January 2, 2020, features a dramatic start to the year. Kristen went ballistic, Gabi flexed her muscles, and SteVano nailed his Patch impression.

Kristen’s (Stacy Haiduk) face off with Nicole (Arianne Zucker) and Brady (Eric Martsolf) did not end well. The baddie went off the rails when Brady rejected her romantic pleas and she blamed the whole thing on Nicole. Of course, Nicole was quick to point out that time Kristen wore her face to try to win Brady over.
It was the wrong button to push. Kristen’s temper exploded and she jumped into action the second she got Nicole alone. Thankfully, Brady came to Nicole’s rescue before Kristen could go too far. Kristen promised it wasn’t over, though. She was going to fight for her man.
Yes, It’s Really Me. I’m Steve
Inside, the party came to a screeching halt when “Steve” (Stephen Nichols) showed up. He claimed to be back to help hunt Stefano but Marlena (Deidre Hall) and John realized something was off. They became especially concerned when he was hostile towards Kayla.
Poor Kayla was floored her ex was back in town. She had questions but “Steve” wasn’t giving any answers. Why should he? It’s not like Kayla was pining away. In fact, she already moved in on his sister’s husband.

SteVano realized how much was riding on him pulling of the Steve act and got it together just in time. He fooled everyone so much that John (Drake Hogestyn) and Marlena invited him to bunk on their couch.
Lani Vs Gabi: Round Two
Meanwhile, Gabi (Camila Banus) and Eli (Lamon Archey) tried to track down Kristen but came across Lani (Sal Stowers) instead. Gabi accused the sister act of destroying her store and assured Lani she had proof.
The women slung insults and bitter words and things got so heated that Eli checked out. Once alone, Gabi made it clear she had the upper hand. That app was still on her phone and she would stop Julie’s heart in a second.
Gabi then went home and sank her hooks deeper into Eli. Being with him was the ultimate revenge and she wasn’t ready to give him up. Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
