This Day In Days of our Lives History: The Recap For February 18, 2020

In this historical Days of our Lives recap, originally penned by Amber Sinclair, it’s February 18, 2020, and in addition to Gabi Hernandez’s spectacular downfall, there’s a look back on half a decade of Salem greatness.

Days of our Lives Recap Highlights

It was a day of reckoning for Gabi (Camila Banus). The tables turned in ways she did not expect. As it turned out, Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes) was faking and half a dozen others were involved in the takedown plan. Lani Price (Sal Stowers) and JJ Deveraux (Casey Moss) went above and beyond to make sure she’d pay.

Poor Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) was the only cop there so it fell on him to arrest his sister. He took Gabi downtown and heard her tale of woe. She’s the victim here, she said (over and over again). Rafe pointed out that was not true and tried to talk sense into her. (Well, it’s semi-true.)

Back in the park, Lani tried to reach out to Eli Grant (Lamon Archey) but he was not having it. Everyone else forgave Lani on the spot but not him. She said she couldn’t tell anyone about Gabi, yet JJ knew. She trusted her ex instead of him. Why?

DOOL Historical Recap: Loss And Remembrances

Over at the restaurant, Jennifer Horton (Melissa Reeves) met up with Doug Williams (Bill Hayes) to talk about Hope (Kristian Alfonso) but she became the least of their problems when a heartbreaking call came in.

Jen’s dad passed away. The death of Bill Horton hit her hard, as it did everyone else in the room and each person who wandered in from the halted wedding.

The gut-wrenching loss got Doug thinking about his own time in Salem. He came here a conman and first met the all-mighty Bill when they were behind bars. They were friends, enemies, and frenemies, as is usual in their little town. Their lives were always intertwined in one way or another.

Doug reminisced about his 50 years in this special place. He loved hard, lost hard, and married his soulmate. He’s lived a big life and wouldn’t have it any other way.
