Days of Our Lives Recap: John And Marlena (Almost) Tie The Knot!

The Days of Our Lives recap for Thursday, August 23, featured a wedding that was 32 years and one day in the making! Yes, folks, the Jarlena wedding was today, but since this is Days of Our Lives, it couldn’t go off without a few major hitches.

Jarlena’s Wedding Gets Stopped By Sami
The wedding started off with a few minor hiccups — Marlena (Deidre Hall) was late because the limo driver got a flat tire — but, once it started, it was hard to fight the tears of joy in everyone’s eyes.

Just before Marlena walked down the aisle, Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) looked at Steve (Stephen Nichols), told him she loved him, and promised not to keep any more secrets from him.

Then, Will (Chandler Massey) read Shakespeare’s Sonnet 116 to the couple and said Marlena gave him the courage to love and be loved.

All of a sudden, he started remembering his wedding to Sonny (Freddie Smith) — and all the feelings that came with it.

After saying their own vows, John and Marlena said their respective “I Dos.” Just as it was almost official, Sami (Alison Sweeney) came flying down the aisle, screaming that her mother couldn’t marry John.

But then, Susan (Stacy Haiduk) reached into her purse…

Meanwhile, Sonny sat at the bar bemoaning his fate to Roman (Josh Taylor) about all he lost. Roman was sympathetic, and Sonny mused that he didn’t know what he was thinking when he let Will go.

Sonny also seemed to accept the fact that he would no longer be with Will and was grateful for the time he spent with him.

He remained unaware that Will was starting to remember just how much he loved him until they ran into one another and Sonny saw Will with tears in his eyes, crying over the man he loved and the man he lost. Or did he?
