The Days of our Lives recap for Monday, October 4, 2021, features Doug Williams duking it out with the Devil, EJ DiMera trying to rid Nicole Walker Brady – and us – of Duke the Bear, and Abe Carver going all out for his lady love…and getting the details all wrong.
Despite being nearly 100 years old, and half out of his mind from all the unnecessary drugs in his system, Doug (Bill Hayes) was able to take on MarDevil (Deidre Hall), and came very close to winning out – if only Kayla Brady Johnson (Mary Beth Evans) and John Black (Drake Hogestyn) hadn’t come in and ruined his chance.
Ever adaptable, MarDevil turned the situation to her advantage by claiming that she’d just kept Doug from delivering a death blow to an already injured Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes). Color Kayla and John absolutely stunned.
Not only did Julie not thank “Marlena” for her efforts, she steadfastly refused to believe that her husband could commit a crime so heinous; romancing women to get his hands on their cash, yes; attempted spousicide, no.
Duke the Bear: One. EJ (Dan Feuerriegel): Zero. Despite the odds being stacked against him, EJ managed to charm Nicole (Arianne Zucker) into keeping their dinner date. Their evening is marred by the appearance of Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) and Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun). The foursome made nice, though Ava did have a tiny bit of a go at her fellow Nashville acquaintance (why we’re not sure. Come to think of it, why is Ava so angry in general?).
Abe (James Reynolds) is a near expert on Paulina Price (Jackée Harry). In fact, there’s now only two things he doesn’t know about her: the fact that she’s actually Lani Grant’s (Sal Stowers) mother, and her favorite pie. Big Mama Price swears it’s pecan; daughter Chanel Dupree (Raven Bowens) countered with key lime; Paulina herself decried both offerings.
