The Days of Our Lives recap (DOOL) for Thursday, August 9 features Chad deciding to move out on Abby.
Chad and Abby Are Through!
No matter how hard he tried, Chad (Billy Flynn) could not accept the fact that Abby (Marci Miller) is not only carrying Stefan’s (Tyler Christopher) baby (so he thinks), she’s allowing Stefan to be a part of the baby’s life.
Even after talking it over with Marlena (Deidre Hall), he found it difficult to accept and finally told Abby that he cannot be a father to a child that isn’t his. Despite her pleading with him to stay, Chad finally stormed out on Abby — possibly for good.
Rafe Gets Suspicious!
When Rafe (Galen Gering) caught Gabi (Camila Banus) talking about the lies she’s told and her desire to reveal the truth — obviously, about the switching of the paternity papers — he tried to get her to spill the beans.
She came close to telling all but ultimately put her guard up and she succeeded in keeping Rafe at bay…for now.
Ben Asks Hope If She’ll Close the Case!
Ben (Robert Scott Wilson) wants nothing more than his freedom, especially since he’s now convinced that he’s not responsible for the fire. So, he asked Hope (Kristian Alfonso) if she’ll finally close the case against him.
Hope was more concerned about Ciara (Victoria Konefal) than about giving Ben any sort of peace. Remembering what Rafe had told her about getting Ben to leave Salem if he closes the case, Hope offered a devil’s bargain: she’ll do what he wants if he gets out of Salem.
Marlena’s Dress Revealed!
What a lovely flashback to the first time Marlena and John (Drake Hogestyn) got married — complete with all the 1980s regalia and shoulder pads!
Marlena and Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) prepared for the upcoming wedding, and Marlena tried on her dress — and later John walked in and saw it.
John marveled at his bride’s look, but Marlena was clearly upset, and that bodes for bad luck at the wedding.
