Days of our Lives Recap: Ben Had His Suspicions!

The Days of our Lives recap for Wednesday, May 22 features a day of power shifts, close calls, and raising suspicions.

What’s Up With Claire?
Ben (Robert Scott Wilson) paid a visit to Claire (Olivia Rose Keegan) and not a moment too soon. She was just about to set Tripp’s (Lucas Adams) clothes on fire and he interrupted her plans.

However, that was not the reason he was at the loft. He wanted to get his hands on the infamous lighter to prove his innocence. The request threw Claire through a loop and she said she tossed it.

He had no choice but to believe her but the encounter left him with rising suspicions about his girlfriend’s niece. Something isn’t right and he was determined to find out what.

Unfortunately, he may not get the chance. In a bombshell move, Jack (Matthew Ashford) made Eve (Kassie DePaiva) his new police commissioner.

She is ready to take a bite out of crime starting with Ben, Haley, and JJ. Eve made her intentions clear and took great pride confiscating Hope’s badge and gun.

The joke was on Eve, though. Hope (Kristen Alfonso) was arresting Tripp when she got the news. So, she did what any good cop would do and let Tripp go since it was not her job anymore.

Canada, Here We Come!
Speaking of JJ and Haley, they were gearing up to take on Canada under the guise of tourists. They hid out at the Horton cabin in their matching touristy outfits waiting on word the coast is clear so they could make their move.

Family Matters
Meanwhile, Ciara (Victoria Konefal) spent the majority of her day trying to reason with Rafe (Galen Gearing). She all but begged him to let Ben see David and her pleas worked, at least a little. Rafe agreed to talk to Jordan. It was not a yes, but it was a move in the right direction.
