Days of our Lives Recap: Belle’s Button Sets Off Alarm Bells For Rafe

The Days of our Lives recap for Friday, April 16, 2021, features Rafe encountering another murder suspect, Jan getting away with her crime, and Allie and Tripp deciding to let bygones be bygones.

Days of our Lives Recap Highlight

D.A. Melinda Trask (Tina Huang) harangued Rafe (Galen Gering) over his failure to secure a lasting arrest in the Charlie Dale (Mike Manning) murder case and for his inability to find a suspect with whom he doesn’t have a personal relationship.

Seriously. How can the Police Commissioner be tied to not one, not two, but FOUR suspects? And the less said about the fact he’s slept with one of them, the better.

Anywho, the entire case now rests on matching a discarded red button to the same colored coat from which it fell. Which shouldn’t be too terribly hard, considering the fact that said coat belongs to Belle Black Brady (Martha Madison) and she’s sitting right outside Rafe’s office door arguing with her hubby over Jan Spears (Heather Lindell)!

Playing Catch-up

Claire (Isabel Durant) stomped over to Jan’s hospital room and pointedly returned the healing crystal she had been gifted. That’ll teach you to play me like a fool and kidnap my mama!

What’s that you say, Jan? You’re really, really sorry for what you did? Well, okay. I still don’t completely trust you, but let’s bond over all the horrible things that have happened since you were in the coma.

The most pressing? That boy you set me up with was a total freakin’ psychopath. No, no, no need to kill him. Somebody already did that. Thanks for the concern though. Now, what’s this you say about not going to prison and how exactly is my mom responsible?

Do-Over

Speaking of, “I’m sorries,” Allie (Lindsay Arnold) had a whole lot of them for Tripp (Lucas Adams). She’s sorry she nearly ruined his reputation with a false rape accusation; ditto her interrupting his medical school studies. In fact, she’s just sorry all around. No worries, said Tripp. No harm, no foul.

The Mesmerist

Upon learning that he (probably) won’t be going to prison for throttling Jan, John (Drake Hogestyn) sunk into the depths of despair. He’d much rather go to prison for attempted murder rather than actual murder.

So, with no further ado, it’s time to get to the bottom of what really went down the night Charlie died. Doc, time to dust off those rarely used hypnosis skills! Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
