The Days of Our Lives recap for Tuesday, August 21 features the entire town of Salem getting ready for the ‘Jarlena’ wedding…but of course, it’s not without its drama!
John Got Conked
As the rest of Salem gets ready for the wedding of the year, John (Drake Hogestyn), Steve (Stephen Nichols), and a few of the boys have a subdued bachelor party that involved darts, beer, and playing catch.
Steve got himself a bullseye, bionic eye and all, in the darts game. But then, the pitching practice between John and Paul (Christopher Sean) caused a bit of unintended drama as Paul clocked John in the eye with the ball.
The resulting black eye was covered by Steve’s patch, which Marlena (Deidre Hall) later dubbed as sexy.
Meanwhile, Will (Chandler Massey) — who stayed inside while Paul and John went outside to play ball — revealed what happened with Sonny (Freddie Smith) to Grandpa Roman (Josh Taylor).

Will said that he didn’t want to tell Paul what went on because he didn’t want Paul to make much ado about nothing. Roman said that as long as Will was sincere about his non-feelings for Sonny, there should be nothing to worry about.
Marlena’s Sip-n-Paint Bachelorette Party
Meanwhile, Marlena had a bachelorette party of her own. Susan — who previously reunited with Will and apologized to him for all the trouble she’d caused — revealed that she was the one who sent Marlena the wedding doll.
Marlena took a forgiving approach to Susan, who then read tarot cards. Susan said that the cards revealed that Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) was keeping a secret from her husband. When Claire drew the death card, Belle (Martha Madison) got worried, but Valerie said that the card meant “renewal.”
When Marlena drew the lover’s card, everyone saw the card as a good sign of the impending nuptials. Later, though, Susan revealed that the lover’s card was upside down, meaning the marriage was doomed.
