Days of our Lives Recap: Ava Fears Her Worst Nightmare’s Coming True

The Days of our Lives recap for Thursday, August 26, 2021, features Ava Vitali trying, and failing, to not let her imagination run away with her, and preparations for the Justin Kiriakis/Bonnie Lockhart wedding hitting a few snags.

Just when she seemed poised to send Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) a particularly hate-filled text, Ava (Tamara Braun) was talked down by Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols). Steve then proceeded to tell Ava that he was going to give her – and her claims to be a better woman – the benefit of the doubt; and if he can do that, he can also certainly do the same for Bonnie Lockhart, but that’s a conversation for a different day.

Steve also encouraged Ava to stop being so petty and suspicious where Rafe and Nicole Walker Brady (Ariane Zucker) are concerned – and Ava agreed.

So, back to Rafe’s house Ava set…but upon arrival, she was greeted by the sight of Rafe and Nicole locked in an embrace. And sure, it was all perfectly innocent – the two were just hugging each other goodbye after deciding that they have got to stop spending so much time together…for Ava’s sake – but it did look mighty suspect.

DAYS Recap: Big Apple Bound

It may be a bit neanderthalic, but Philip Kiriakis (Jay Kenneth Johnson) isn’t enamored with the idea of his girlfriend accompanying her ex-husband on a trip to New York – hence his threat to slaughter Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) should anything untoward transpire between him and Chloe Lane (Nadia Bjorlin). Where’s Steve and his pep talks when you need him?

DOOL Recap: Wedding Prep

Victor Kiriakis’s (John Aniston) reaction to Justin (Wally Kurth) and Bonnie’s (Judi Evans) plan to marry? Why, a food-throwing temper tantrum of course (off-camera, apparently) – and Justin and Bonnie should consider themselves lucky. The Victor of old would have just shot Bonnie…or sabotaged an elevator that she’s riding in – we’d say ask Bo Brady all about it, but he’s dead now.

Having survived the elder Kiriakis’s wrath, the engaged pair set about securing their best man and matron of honor. Bonnie was still dead set on getting Kayla Johnson (Mary Beth Evans) to stand up for her, and Justin was looking forward to Sonny being by his side – but sonny boy had to cancel. So, Bonnie suggested that he ask Steve…because, apparently, she’s never met a situation she couldn’t make more awkward.
