The Days of our Lives recap for Wednesday, July 22, 2020, features Ciara and Ben becoming man and wife seconds before a vicious attack threatened to separate them forever. It was the most explosive wedding of the season, and we mean that in the most literal way.
The day started off nearly perfect for Ben (Robert Scott Wilson) and Ciara (Victoria Konefal). A few late guests (including Lani and Eli, neither of which noticed the bomb despite being cops), and a short delay by the nervous bride didn’t stop the couple from meeting at the altar.
Julie (Susan Seaforth Hayes) got nervous and ended up winging it. Her personalized ceremony was all about true love prevailing. It’s okay to love who you love, despite what anyone thinks. Shawn (Brandon Beemer) joined her sentiments with a small speech of his own. Of course, he made his speech using a gigantic fortune cookie, because we all know Ciara and her love of the sweet treat.
Ben and Ciara relived the greatest moments of their romance. They fell in love hard and fast and nothing could keep them apart. Julie had the honor of walking them through their vows and pronouncing them man and wife. It was mere moments after their first kiss their whole day literally exploded.
While Ciara took her vows, Claire (Olivia Rose Keegan) continued throwing tantrum after tantrum. She went so far off the rails she accidentally admitted how she really found out about the wedding. Belle (Martha Madison) was shocked, her daughter lied to get out of Bayview. (Who would have seen that coming?)
Belle suggested Claire take a break from Salem and move to Hong Kong for a little while. Much to her surprise, Claire agreed. She needed a break from all the drama, she said. (Or was she running away?)
Meanwhile, back at the church, Ben and Ciara walked through a parade of confetti and smiles. Ciara turned back to kiss her mom. When she turned back to be with Ben the bomb went off. He was laid out alone in the foyer and everyone in the pews ducked for cover. Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
