The Days of Our Lives recap for October 26-30, 2020, features a blackout in Salem that brings way too much drama.
Good ALWAYS triumphs over evil. Though evil always gives it the old college try. Orpheus’s (George del Hoyo) plan to force Marlena (Deidre Hall) to spring his son from Bayview backfired spectacularly when Christian (Brock Kelly) lashed out against dear old dad.
Clyde’s (James Read) determination to stay Ben’s (Robert Scott Wilson) blood lust was sidelined by a spot of kidnapping and then a bullet to the shoulder. Nice shot Kate (Lauren Koslow)!
And Rolf’s (William Utay) desire to literally raise a new Stefano courtesy of a child that would be carried to term by Kayla Brady (Mary Beth Evans) was dampened by the arrival of Steve (Stephen Nichols) and Roman (Josh Taylor). Gosh, who knew Roman was still capable of doing more than serving his Ma’s clam chowder down at the pub?
Speaking of crime and punishment…poor Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) has been sentenced to five years in prison with the possibility of parole in two. Hardly seems fair, does it?
And while we’re on the subject of Kristen…when she was waxing poetic about her friendship with Lani (Sal Stowers), why did she claim to have never had another female friend? Did she forget that once upon a time, she and Jennifer (now played by Cady McClain) were extremely close?
Orpheus: “You ever tried to live in a 4×8 box, Marlena? It tests the sanity of anyone.” Well, let’s see…she was spent time in jail for her part in the Salem Stalker “slayings.” She was imprisoned in a pit situated on a construction site by a crazed housewife. And she was held hostage inside a literal gilded cage. Yes, it was a bit more luxurious than a jail cell, but it was a cell nonetheless.
Orpheus: “With your credentials, you can just waltz right in there and check Christian out.” Marlena: “It’s not that easy. I know from experience.” Orpheus: “Ah, yes. From your time as a resident of Bayview…why were you any there?”
Was there any other long time viewers who wished Marlena had responded with, “Which time?” Especially considering the fact that she was twice committed there because of “mistaken identity.” Days of Our Lives airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
