The “Days of Our Lives” teen scene finally made it to the prom this week and it was nothing like the Last Blast Dance we remember from the previous generation.
Instead, DAYS took a trip back to the 80s in what felt like a hot tub time machine. Big hair, spiral perms, puffy dress, and pastel tuxedos prevailed for a night that ended in a rumble and a some jail time.
As characters reminisced about a time with no cell phones, Soap Hub wondered what you thought about this crazy trip to a Footloose generation.
Out of about 3,000 votes, 58% of you absolutely loved the 80s theme. It brought back memories of a simpler time in your life when all you cared about was homework, Walkmans, and the net video on MTV.
However, 27% of you thought it was a cheesy theme and executed poorly. You didn’t like the silly pre-prom dialogue about Marlena (Deidre Hall) being sweet on John (Drake Hogestyn) in the 80s, especially when she thought he was her supposedly late husband Roman until the 90s. You definitely think DAYS dropped the ball on its own history here and would have preferred Hope (Kristian Alfonso) whip out her 1983 18th birthday dress rather than Ciara’s (Vivian Jovanni) gold number.
The final 15% of you didn’t even care. You’re tired of the teens often dominating episodes and fast-forwarded through the entire silly ordeal.
