It’s getting juicy on Days Of Our Lives! SteVano (Stephen Nichols) has convinced Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) to take out the bullet lodged in his side and to hide him from… Stefano.

He also managed to erase the message from Roman (Josh Taylor) telling his sister that the man she thinks is her ex-husband is actually the guy she thinks she’s protecting him from. (You got that?)

So now Kayla and the Patched Phoenix are in close quarters, rehashing a romance, marriage, and break up SteVano doesn’t even remember. But can’t help being slightly affected by. After all, nobody ever loved Stefano the way Kayla loved Steve.

Will Kayla’s obviously-not-completely gone love for Steve bring out the real man from underneath the microchip essence? What almost 4,000 fans want to see happen:

What Lies Beneath

Absolutely, 77% cheer, it’s about the only thing that will. We can already almost feel Steve’s true feelings bursting out through Stefano’s feigned ones, and they’ll only get stronger the more Kayla forces “Steve” to relive their past.

The bigger question is whether she’ll have time to do it before SOMEBODY catches up to her in time to spill the SteVano beans. Once Kayla knows the truth the spell will be broken, and Stefano will have an easier time regaining control.

Irreversible

If Gina (Kristian Alfonso) claims that Hope can never return, doesn’t it stand to reason that neither can Steve? Dr. Rolf (Will Utay) was both their founding father, as it were.

Kayla can go on and on about her and Steve’s great, lost love, but 23% of the audience still don’t believe it will do any good. Steve, as we know him, is gone.
