Days of Our Lives Poll Results: Which Brother Do You Love More – Jack or Steve?

Having spent most of his life believing that his father was Harper Deveraux on Days of Our Lives, Jack (Matthew Ashford) was thrown for a loop when he discovered that he was actually adopted and his true parents were Duke and Jo Johnson. At least he had a ready-made family in the form of siblings Steve (Stephen Nichols) and Adrienne (Judi Evans).

But, the bad news was that Jack and his sudden brother were mortal enemies due to their mutual love of Kayla Brady (Mary Beth Evans). And not only did the men share an affection for the same woman but Jack wound up inheriting one of Steve’s kidneys — the perfect gift for when you have to say, “I’m sorry for tossing you off a roof.”

As the seasons changed and time went by, the two scrappers forged a close familial bond. Steve won Kayla’s hand in marriage. Jack fell for the maddening and passionate Jennifer Horton (Melissa Reeves). And everybody was happy. Well until the men started dying — and in Jack’s case dying then returning, dying then returning, dying…

Jack — currently alive and finally amnesia free — is the only one of the brothers on the canvas at the moment – though Steve (who also came back from the dead and battled amnesia) will be joining him in due course.

And until the inevitable reunion, Soap Hub wondered, if push came to shove, could you pick a favorite sibling? Over 8,000 took a breath, had a think, and made a choice.

For 78% of you, it’s Steve all the way! From his early years as a Kiriakis henchman terrorizing a blind Kimberly to his softening thanks to the love of a good woman, Steve has always been a firm fan favorite. Maybe it’s a case of absence making the heart grow fonder but you can barely contain your enthusiasm at the prospect of seeing ‘Patch’ reunite with his “Sweetness.’

It wasn’t quite a landslide victory for Steve because 22% of Days of Our Lives fans threw support behind the now-former Salem mayor. Like Steve, Jack entered the scene as a villain whose more duplicitous nature was tamed by love and you’re enchanted by his recent reunion with Jennifer. Days of Our Lives airs weekdays on NBC.
