Kate Mansi’s second Days of our Lives stint is about to come to an end. So what does that mean for Abby? And for Chabby? Over 6,000 fans gave us their thoughts:
Obviously, Abby’s few weeks of treatment with Grandma Laura didn’t do quite as thorough of a job as she and her family wanted everyone to believe. She’s backsliding. Or something. And 43% of you want her out of Salem until she recovers.
Marci Miller did a good job when Mansi left the last time, 39% remind, so why not bring her back? It won’t be as jarring to the viewers, and the actress won’t have as much back story to catch up on. It’s a win-win for everyone! Plus, we already know she has chemistry with Billy Flynn (Chad).
Not counting the baby and little girl Abbys, there have been three who’ve played her as a teen/adult. So why not go for four, 14% of the audience offers up. We’re not talking Erica Kane or Luke Spencer or Victor Newman or – closer to home – Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall), here. Even Hope (Kristian Alfonso) and Julie (Susan Seaforth Hayes) are recasts. So why not Abby for a fourth time?
Could Salem survive without Abby, 4% wonder? Perhaps it could. Kill her off. Let Chad, Jack (Matthew Ashford), and Jennifer (Melissa Reeves) wail, and everyone talk about what a saint she was, while Gabi (Camila Banus) smirks. Get all the drama out of it that you can. Then, if it doesn’t work, bring her back to life. It’s not like death is permanent in Salem. It’s kind of a risk-free move. Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC.
