Days of our Lives fan can put up with a LOT! Evil twins, Salem Stranglers, Salem Slashers, robotic eyes, a backward island for the dead, world-destroying prisms, very lifelike latex masks, and a Phoenix with more energy than the Easter bunny.
But this latest… sigh. Look, we get it. The great Joseph Moscolo is dead and no one else could possibly play Stefano — especially not that shadowy guy in the hat that tried a while back.
But is the solution really to announce that Stefano’s brain (conscience? soul?) has been transplanted into Steve’s (Stephen Nichols) body? Is that really the best way to handle this situation? Over 2,000 fans let us know in no uncertain terms:
It took almost no time at all for 90% of the audience to express their disdain for this story. Say what now? Stefano is Steve? Or is it that Steve is Stefano? Either way, it’s ridiculous!
Is no one supposed to notice? Though to be fair, Gina has possessed Hope’s (Kristian Alfonso) body for over a year now, and no one has questioned the Eurotrash accent that comes and goes, much less the much more flattering wardrobe.
But still, does Stefano think he can really win back his Queen of the Night Marlena (Deidre Hall) while wearing the face of her ex-brother-in-law? Or is she not supposed to notice either?
Nonetheless, 10% of Days of our Lives fans are intrigued. If this is your only chance to get Stefano back, you’re willing to give it a shot. And since you know Steve will eventually become himself again, not to mention find his way back to Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) — and kick interloper Justin (Wally Kurth) to the curb — you’re willing to watch and wait.
Maybe Steve will even get to keep the new and improved eye! Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
