Xander has been a very bad boy on Days of our Lives. We’re not counting the blackmailing and the Nicole kidnapping and the Holly death faking and all the other things he has done. That is all so last year.
Days of our Lives Polling
We’re talking about his most recent malfeasance. The one where he switched Brady (Eric Martsolf) and Kristen’s (Stacy Haiduk) living baby with Sarah (Linsey Godfrey) and Eric’s (Greg Vaughan) dead one. And then romanced Sarah. And prepared to marry her. All while keeping that little tidbit to himself. Will you ever be able to forgive him? What almost 4,000 viewers said:
End Of the Road
A winning 52% have deemed Xander’s actions unforgivable. He stole a baby! He let Brady and Kristen think their child was dead! He let Sarah think Mackenzie was her child! He was willing to lie for the rest of their lives! This is not some little boo-boo. This is criminal. This is unforgivable! No, bad Xander. Bad, bad Xander.
Redeem This Coupon
A smaller 25% know that everything is forgivable in Salem. As long as you’re redeemed first. Abigail (Kate Mansi) and Gabi (Camila Banus) have been forgiven for all sorts of things. So has the aforementioned Kristen.
Look at how many times Maggie (Suzanne Rogers) has forgiven Victor (John Aniston). Sarah is Maggie’s daughter. She’ll eventually forgive Xander. Especially when she learns he didn’t just do it for her… but for her mom, too.
Almost There
An almost equal 23% don’t even need to see a big redemption story. They already forgive Xander for doing what he did out of love. Xander truly loves Sarah. He truly loves baby Mickey. What man in Salem hasn’t done something desperate – and/or shady – for the woman and child he loves? It’s soaps’ favorite justification, so why shouldn’t Xander benefit from the trope, as well?
