Peter Reckell is no longer on Days of our Lives, but his loyal fans will always want to keep tabs on the actor’s life. As such, it wasn’t a surprise to have recently discovered that the former Bo Brady has welcomed a new loved one into his family and into his heart.
New Joy For Peter Reckell
As Soap Hub readers may recall, Reckell and wife Kelly Moneymaker lost their beloved dog, Dodger, last month… and as any dog-lover will tell you, moving forward and bringing a new dog into the family is about giving another pooch a happy life and a happy home. Now Reckell and Moneymaker have taken that step.
“Dodger was such an amazing being, we’ve been heartbroken since his transition,” Moneymaker posted on Twitter. “This sweet boy has experienced a lot of abuse and needs his heart healed too, so we are a fantastic match! Please meet our new family member, Brando.”
Moneymaker offered some clarification in the comments section of a post that speculated on Brando being a pit bull. “Our beloved Toby was a pit bull (and you’re right, they are incredible dogs),” she notes, “but our new boy (Brando) is a Dogue de Bordeaux, Staffie mix.”
“He is so very handsome!!” @mwolfer17 posted of Brando. “These beefy big dogs have the most amazing hearts.”
“Kelly,” wrote @millerbimerly7, “he is beautiful. I’m sure you will all help heal the pain you have each been through lately. I know first hand that dogs have a way of getting to your heart and making everything seem a little better. Sending you my love and prayers. Love one another.”
Reckell and Bo are never far from the minds of DAYS fans. They may be thinking of him more nowadays, especially in light of the news that Kristian Alfonso, Reckell’s longtime leading lady, is exiting her role as Hope. Alas, Alfonso has already shot her final scenes, and Bo died in 2015, so a happy ending for the duo is not likely to happen.
Soap Hub congratulates Reckell and Moneymaker on their new dog, Brando. Days of our Lives airs weekdays on NBC. Check local listings for air times.
