Paris resident Abigail Deveraux may be learning that “two’s company and three is a crowd,” but actress Kate Mansi certainly has a reason to celebrate!
That’s because she was born on September 15, 1987, in Calabasas, California, which means that this talented performer is turning 32 years old today! Mansi’s initial dream was to become a dancer and she joined the Pacific Festival Ballet company at the age of 15. There she starred in a number of productions including the Nutcracker, Bambi and Peter Pan.
In 2008, Mansi auditioned for the role of Melanie Jonas on the NBC daytime soap opera Days of Our Lives but failed to secure the role. She did, however, make her television debut that same year with a guest spot on CBS’ How I Met Your Mother.
Three years later, Mansi again auditioned for DAYS and managed to secure the role of legacy character Abigail Deveraux. Mansi was immediately thrust into front burner storylines as she played out two one-sided love affairs with married men and then managed to find love with Chad, the white sheep of the DiMera family.
Mansi and co-star Billy Flynn had an electric chemistry that excited fans and soon the coupling of Chad and Abigail became one of the soaps most popular.
The role of Abby earned Mansi the 2017 Daytime Emmy statuette for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series. But by the time she had accepted her award, Mansi had been gone from the series for a year.
After leaving DAYS, Mansi appeared in a number of television films including Unwanted Guest, Boyfriend Killer, and Mother of All Secrets. In late 2018, she returned for a brief Salem stint, and then in July 2019, Mansi returned to the part of Abigail, alongside longtime screen partner Billy Flynn, in a web series, exclusively for the DAYS app, titled Chad and Abby In Paris.
