Days of our Lives C&G News
Who’s coming and who’s going from Days of our Lives (DOOL)? Are any favorite performers from yesteryear returning to the daytime drama, this week, or in the near future?
Have any new actors or actresses been cast on the show in contract, recurring or day player roles? Are any well-remembered stars from other soaps, past or present, about to join Days of our Lives fold in surprise new parts? Here’s the latest casting news from the NBC soap.
The week of March 9, 2020
Despite numerous cast exits in recent weeks, Wally Kurth is back on the DAYS scene as Justin Kiriakis. The actor, however, made it clear on Twitter that he is no longer under contract with the soap. Yet, he added that he is “happily” still working on the show.
Will Utay will log in more appearances as Dr. Rolf, next week. Look for the duplicitous mad scientist to share key scenes with Stephen Nichols’ Steve/Stefano, Deidre Hall’s Marlena, and Drake Hogestyn’s John on Monday, March 9, Tuesday, March 10 and Wednesday, March 11.
Victoria Platt is back as the baby switching Dr. Raynor, too. She’ll interact with Linsey Godfrey’s Sarah, Paul Telfer’s Xander and Arianne Zucker’s Nicole.
Days of our Lives History
DOOL made its debut in 1965 and is one of the longest-running daytime soap operas in American history. It has outlasted other soaps to become a mainstay for many households. Needless to say, five decades of storylines have kept viewers locked in and wanting more.
From Stefano DiMera’s (Joseph Mascolo) evil schemes to Victor Kiriakis’s (John Aniston) one-liners to the epic love story of Bo (Peter Reckell) and Hope (Kristian Alfonso), DAYS knows how to entertain and keep fans coming back for more. Sadly, times are shifting and daytime soap operas are shrinking.
Bringing the Drama
It is one of only four remaining soap operas currently on the air. The other three daytime dramas include General Hospital (GH), The Young and the Restless (YR), and The Bold and the Beautiful (BB). DAYS airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for air times.
