The week of February 10, 2020
It looks like Salem will be losing a pair of leading men. During a recent podcast interview, Galen Gering, who’s played Rafe Hernandez since 2008, addressed his contract status with the soap, noting that he didn’t know how long he would be on the show.”
Gering said that he had “a couple of weeks of shows to do” and then was “definitely going [off canvas] for a bit.” His departure will leave a major hole in the Salem police team.
Also reportedly wrapping his run as JJ Deveraux is Casey Moss. The actor, who’s been portraying Jack (Matthew Ashford) and Jennifer’s (Melissa Reeves) son since 2013, is said to be exiting during February sweeps.
Leann Hunley and Thaao Penghlis wrapped up their latest run as Anna and Tony DiMera. The door, however, remains open for their return at a later date.
Chaz Kao is set to appear as Chris on Thursday, February. Look for Gabi
(Camila Banus) to meet with the character to discuss Julie’s (Susan Seaforth Hayes) new pacemaker. He’ll also share scenes with Kate Mansi’s Abigail and Bill Flynn’s Chad.
Days of our Lives History
DOOL made its debut in 1965 and is one of the longest-running daytime soap operas in American history. It has outlasted other soaps to become a mainstay for many households. Needless to say, five decades of storylines have kept viewers locked in and wanting more.
From Stefano DiMera’s (Joseph Mascolo) evil schemes to Victor Kiriakis’s (John Aniston) one-liners to the epic love story of Bo (Peter Reckell) and Hope (Kristian Alfonso), DAYS knows how to entertain and keep fans coming back for more. Sadly, times are shifting and daytime soap operas are shrinking.
Bringing the Drama
It is one of only four remaining soap operas currently on the air. The other three daytime dramas include General Hospital (GH), The Young and the Restless (YR), and The Bold and the Beautiful (BB). DAYS airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for air times.
