Days of our Lives C&G News

Who’s coming and who’s going from Days of our Lives (DOOL)? Are any favorite
performers from yesteryear returning to the daytime drama, this week, or in the near future?

Have any new actors or actresses been cast on the show in contract, recurring, or day player roles? Are any well-remembered stars from other soaps, past or present, about to join Days of our Lives fold in surprise new parts? Here’s the latest casting news from the NBC soap.

The week of May 25, 2020
A Salem supercouple is heading off the canvas. Billy Flynn and Kate Mansi are leaving town as Chad and Abigail DiMera on Thursday, May 28. Look for the duo to head to Florida, where Abigail will begin seeking treatment to deal with her hallucinations.

Mansi will remain off the canvas, as her recent pact with the soap was for a limited run. Flynn, however, is scheduled to return as Chad in the not-too-distant future

Meanwhile, the role of Chad and Abigail’s son, Thomas, has been recast. Cary Christopher has taken over the part from Asher Morrissette. The young actor had a regular role in the 2019 sitcom Mr. Mom and also appeared on Netflix’s Fuller House.

Days of our Lives History

DOOL made its debut in 1965 and is one of the longest-running daytime soap operas in American history. It has outlasted other soaps to become a mainstay for many households. Needless to say, five decades of storylines have kept viewers locked in and wanting more.

From Stefano DiMera’s (Joseph Mascolo) evil schemes to Victor Kiriakis’s (John Aniston) one-liners to the epic love story of Bo (Peter Reckell) and Hope (Kristian Alfonso), DAYS knows how to entertain and keep fans coming back for more. Sadly, times are shifting and daytime soap operas are shrinking.

Bringing the Drama

It is one of only four remaining soap operas currently on the air. The other three daytime dramas include General Hospital (GH), The Young and the Restless (YR), and The Bold and the Beautiful (BB). DAYS airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for air times.
