Are any well-remembered stars from other soaps, past or present, about to join the Days of our Lives fold in surprising new parts?
Here’s the latest casting news from the NBC soap.

The week of July 26, 2021
The soap may be on a break while the Summer Olympics air on NBC, but there’s been plenty of casting news surfacing. First up, Marla Gibbs (The Jeffersons) is joining the show as Olivia Price, Paulina’s (Jackée Harry) mother. The two actresses have worked with each other before on the primetime sitcom 227. Look for Gibbs to begin airing in mid-August.

One of the Backstreet Boys is heading to Salem, too. AJ McLean revealed the news on TikTok, noting that he grew up watching the show with his grandmother. McLean will be playing a driver and shot his scenes, last week. There’s no word yet, as to when he’ll begin airing.

Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) and Kristen DiMera’s (Stacy Haiduk) daughter, Rachel, is growing up fast. The former toddler is being aged, and Finley Rose Slater will be taking over the role. She’ll begin airing in October.

Please note that air dates may be subject to change.
