Days of our Lives C&G News

Who’s coming and who’s going from Days of our Lives (DOOL)? Are any favorite
performers from yesteryear returning to the daytime drama, this week, or in the near future?

Have any new actors or actresses been cast on the show in contract, recurring or day player roles? Are any well-remembered stars from other soaps, past or present, about to join Days of our Lives fold in surprise new parts? Here’s the latest casting news from the NBC soap.

The week of July 13, 2020

Alison Sweeney is back for another story arc as Sami Brady DiMera. Look for the character to turn up as a wedding crasher at Eric (Greg Vaughan) and Nicole’s (Arianne Zucker) nuptials on Tuesday, July 14, and then play a pivotal part in Allie’s (Lindsay Arnold) pregnancy storyline. Sweeney made her last appearance on the show in 2019.

Get ready for a blast from the past. Ivan G’Vera resurfaces as Ivan Marais, Vivian’s (Louise Sorel) longtime devoted manservant on Wednesday, July 15, when he reveals a whopper of a secret. G’Vera played Ivan from 1991 to 2000 and appeared on the soap briefly in 2011.

Meanwhile, Kristian Alfonso is exiting the soap as Hope Williams Brady. The actress, who initially joined the cast back in 1983, announced the news via a social media post. She’s already taped her final scenes.

Days of our Lives History

DOOL made its debut in 1965 and is one of the longest-running daytime soap operas in American history. It has outlasted other soaps to become a mainstay for many households. Needless to say, five decades of storylines have kept viewers locked in and wanting more.

From Stefano DiMera’s (Joseph Mascolo) evil schemes to Victor Kiriakis’s (John Aniston) one-liners to the epic love story of Bo (Peter Reckell) and Hope (Kristian Alfonso), DAYS knows how to entertain and keep fans coming back for more. Sadly, times are shifting and daytime soap operas are shrinking.

Bringing the Drama

It is one of only four remaining soap operas currently on the air. The other three daytime dramas include General Hospital (GH), The Young and the Restless (YR), and The Bold and the Beautiful (BB). DAYS airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for air times.
