Who’s coming and who’s going from Days of our Lives (DOOL)? Are any favorite
performers from yesteryear returning to the daytime drama, this week, or in the near future?
Have any new actors or actresses been cast on the show in contract, recurring or day player roles? Are any well-remembered stars from other soaps, past or present, about to join Days of our Lives fold in surprise new parts? Here’s the latest casting news from the NBC soap.
The week of June 29, 2020
Two more guests — one invited, one uninvited — show up for Lani (Sal Stowers) and Eli’s (Lamon Archey) wedding. Marilyn McCoo returns as Tamara Price, the bride’s mother and Marlena’s (Deidre Hall) former college roommate, on Monday, June 29. The actress last appeared at the couple’s first ill-fated wedding ceremony, which aired in November.
Also crashing the nuptials will be Louise Sorel as Vivian. The character was last seen fleeing town in October, albeit, at that point, she was played by Robin Strasser. Look for Vivian to make her first unwelcome appearance on Tuesday, June 30. And word is her longtime manservant Ivan, played by Ivan G’Vera, will soon be popping up onscreen, too.
Meanwhile, it’s leaked out that Marci Miller, who played Abigail Deveraux DiMera from 2016 to 2018, will be returning the role. Miller originally replaced Kate Mansi, who’d portrayed Abigail from 2011 to 2016, returned in 2018, and left the soap again last month. There’s no word yet as to Miller’s first airdate.
On the exit front, Stacy Haiduk and Eric Martsolf are heading out of town as Kristen and Brady. The question is, How long will the pair be gone? Stay tuned…
DOOL made its debut in 1965 and is one of the longest-running daytime soap operas in American history. It has outlasted other soaps to become a mainstay for many households. Needless to say, five decades of storylines have kept viewers locked in and wanting more.
From Stefano DiMera’s (Joseph Mascolo) evil schemes to Victor Kiriakis’s (John Aniston) one-liners to the epic love story of Bo (Peter Reckell) and Hope (Kristian Alfonso), DAYS knows how to entertain and keep fans coming back for more. Sadly, times are shifting and daytime soap operas are shrinking.
It is one of only four remaining soap operas currently on the air. The other three daytime dramas include General Hospital (GH), The Young and the Restless (YR), and The Bold and the Beautiful (BB). DAYS airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for air times.
