The week of September 21, 2020
Cady McClain (ex-Dixie, All My Children; ex-Rosanna, As the World Turns; ex-Kelly, The Young and the Restless) will be temporarily replacing Melissa Reeves as Jennifer Horton Deveraux. Reeves, who commutes from Tennessee to film DAYS, decided not to return to Los Angeles when the soap resumed production in early September due to concerns about the coronavirus.
Vaughan, who opted not to renew his contract with the soap, has made it clear that he’s taking a break from the show. Meanwhile, the DAYS brass is leaving the door open for his return.
Also slipping off the canvas, this week is Alison Sweeney. The actress wraps up her latest stint as Sami Brady on Friday, September 25, when the character heads back to Europe. However, she WILL be back soon.
Salem district attorney Melinda Trask returns on Wednesday, September 23, only this time around she’ll be played by Tina Huang. The actress has appeared as Susie Chang on Rizzoli & Isles (2011 to 2015). She’s also logged in daytime hours as Dr. Campbell on The Bold and the Beautiful and Dr. Chu on General Hospital.
Laura Kai Chen, who has portrayed Melinda since 2013, wasn’t available for filming. So the part was recast.
Will Utay resurfaces as Dr. Wilhelm Rolf on Thursday, September 24 in scenes with Emily O’Brien’s Gwen. Please note that air dates may be subject to change. Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
