Days of our Lives C&G News

Who’s coming and who’s going from Days of our Lives (DOOL)? Are any favorite performers from yesteryear returning to the daytime drama, this week, or in the near future?

Have any new actors or actresses been cast on the show in contract, recurring or day player roles? Are any well-remembered stars from other soaps, past or present, about to join Days of our Lives fold in surprise new parts? Here’s the latest casting news from the NBC soap.

The week of February 15, 2021
A trio of villains is headed back to the Salem fold. George DelHoyo returns as Orpheus on Monday, February 15. He’ll share scenes with Jason Downs’ Rhodes, the man who’s been holding Ciara (Victoria Konefal) hostage when Rhodes turns up at Statesville Prison.

Brock Kelly pops back in as Evan Frears, Orpheus’s son and Sonny’s (Freddie Smith) former lover on Friday, February 19.

James Read reprises his role as Clyde Weston. He’ll share scenes with his TV son Robert Scott Wilson when Ben visits his dad at Statesville.

Meanwhile, on the exit front, it’s farewell to two leading ladies. Jaime Lyn Bauer made her final appearance as Laura Horton on February 9. The character was declared dead after an altercation with Gwen (Emily O’Brien).

Cady McClain, who took over the role of Jennifer Horton Deveraux in October of 2020, is leaving the soap. Look for Jennifer to head to Boston after attending Laura’s funeral on Wednesday, February 17.

Days of our Lives History

DOOL made its debut in 1965 and is one of the longest-running daytime soap operas in American history. It has outlasted other soaps to become a mainstay for many households. Needless to say, five decades of storylines have kept viewers locked in and wanting more.

From Stefano DiMera’s (Joseph Mascolo) evil schemes to Victor Kiriakis’s (John Aniston) one-liners to the epic love story of Bo (Peter Reckell) and Hope (Kristian Alfonso), DAYS knows how to entertain and keep fans coming back for more. Sadly, times are shifting and daytime soap operas are shrinking.

Bringing the Drama

It is one of four remaining soap operas currently on the air. The other three daytime dramas include General Hospital (GH), The Young and the Restless (YR), and The Bold and the Beautiful (BB). DAYS airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for air times.
