Days of our Lives C&G News

Who’s coming and who’s going from Days of our Lives (DOOL)? Are any favorite performers from yesteryear returning to the daytime drama, this week, or in the near future?

Have any new actors or actresses been cast on the show in contract, recurring or day player roles? Are any well-remembered stars from other soaps, past or present, about to join Days of our Lives fold in surprise new parts? Here’s the latest casting news from the NBC soap.

The week of September 7, 2020

Two more Salem returns are on the agenda. Casey Moss is heading back to town as JJ Deveraux sometime this fall. The character was last seen in February when he traveled to Africa with his family to attend his grandfather Bill Horton’s funeral and decided to remain there. He had just been to recovery for drug addiction after losing the love of his life, so some time away from Salem may have been good for him.

Meanwhile, Tamara Braun will be “resurrecting” Ava Vitali. The character was killed off in March of 2016 when Joey Johnson (James Lastovic) smothered her in her hospital room. Whether Ava will be returning for real (Hello, Dr. Rolf–work your magic!) or as a ghost has yet to be revealed.

Heather Lindell is back for a short run as Jan Spears, Belle (Martha Madison) and Shawn’s (Brandon Beemer) wacky former high school classmate. She played Jan from 2004 to 2005 and also appeared in the DOOL app series, Last Blast Reunion, this past January.

Gwen McGee has been playing Rose Duncan, the judge officiating over the custody hearing for Allie’s (Linsday Arnold) baby son.

Please note that air dates may be subject to change. Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
