Days of our Lives C&G News
Who’s coming and who’s going from Days of our Lives (DOOL)? Are any favorite performers from yesteryear returning to the daytime drama, this week, or in the near future?
Have any new actors or actresses been cast on the show in contract, recurring or day player roles? Are any well-remembered stars from other soaps, past or present, about to join Days of our Lives fold in surprise new parts? Here’s the latest casting news from the NBC soap.
The week of January 25, 2021
Victoria Konefal is back as Ciara Brady Weston and, this time, not as a ghost. Ben’s (Robert Scott Wilson) wife resurfaces alive and well, beginning Thursday, January 28.
Konefal last appeared as an apparition to her widower, Ben, last December, while he was trimming the Horton family Christmas tree. Her character was “killed off” the show in October 2020.
Jason Downs joins the cast as the mysterious Rhodes. The character will be connected to Ciara. Downs’ credits include guest spots on NCIS: New Orleans and NCIS: Los Angeles. He also has a previous daytime credit. He portrayed a Dutch concierge on The Bold and the Beautiful in 2014.
Days of our Lives History
DOOL made its debut in 1965 and is one of the longest-running daytime soap operas in American history. It has outlasted other soaps to become a mainstay for many households. Needless to say, five decades of storylines have kept viewers locked in and wanting more.
From Stefano DiMera’s (Joseph Mascolo) evil schemes to Victor Kiriakis’s (John Aniston) one-liners to the epic love story of Bo (Peter Reckell) and Hope (Kristian Alfonso), DAYS knows how to entertain and keep fans coming back for more. Sadly, times are shifting and daytime soap operas are shrinking.
Bringing the Drama
It is one of four remaining soap operas currently on the air. The other three daytime dramas include General Hospital (GH), The Young and the Restless (YR), and The Bold and the Beautiful (BB). DAYS airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for air times.
