Days of our Lives signed off for its two-week Olympics break with a slew of storylines up in the air. Kristen DiMera is holding Abigail Deveraux DiMera and company hostage, EJ DiMera is on his way to prison, and Nancy Wesley learned her husband Craig Wesley is gay. However, the soap’s Thursday cliffhanger focused on a pair of characters who have been driving a chunk of the action the past few months, and it was a “Johnny and Lani Show” spectacular.
Days of our Lives: Devil and Double-Crosser
The possessed Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) zeroed in on his main target, Gabi Hernandez DiMera (Camila Banus). He morphed into Jake DiMera (Brandon Barash), made a business deal with Maggie Horton Kiriakis (Suzanne Rogers), and arranged for Gabi to overhear fake Jake double-crossing her.
A crushed and angry Gabi confided in Johnny, who convinced her to work together to take hold of Jake’s shares of DiMera Enterprises and gain control of the company. Lickety-split a deal was struck, only Gabi had no idea she was making a deal with the devil – literally. Will Gabi end up seduced by Johnny’s wicked charms or figure out she’s being master manipulated before it’s too late?
Secret Exposed
Johnny’s work wasn’t quite done yet. The lucky devil happened upon Chanel Dupree DiMera (Raven Bowens) and Allie Horton (Lindsay Arnold) discussing their secret tryst in Horton Square. He smiled broadly upon overhearing the explosive information, then filed it away for future use, knowing he has a powerful weapon to use against his estranged wife and sister.

Meanwhile, in Camp Lani, after Chanel innocently told TR Coates (William Christian) that Lani Price Grant (Sal Stowers) was her sister, he raced over to confront the young woman he suddenly realized was his daughter. Albeit stunned when TR announced he was her father, Lani stayed strong and totally rebuffed him, insisting she already had a dad and wanted no part of him.
The action intensified when Paulina Price (Jackée Harry) burst in and demanded TR leave. TR obliged, but on his way out vowed he would do whatever it took to be a father to Lani. Clearly, Lani and Paulina’s worlds will never be the same now that TR is in the picture. Perhaps they’ll have to team up to keep TR totally out of their lives or, at the very least, at bay.
