Lani’s picture-perfect world – she’s happily married to Eli and expecting twins with her devoted husband – came tumbling down this week on Days of our Lives, when she learned the big, fat explosive secret her man has been keeping from her.
Days of our Lives Heartbreak For Lani
Suspecting something is amiss, after finding Eli (Lamon Archey) and her dad, Abe (James Reynolds), in the middle of another mysterious chat, Lani (Sal Stowers) went into detective mode to uncover the truth. She slipped away but left her phone behind to secretly record their conversation.
The bits and pieces she later heard made Lani realize Eli’s secret involves Brady (Eric Martsolf). So she races off to see him.
The Ugly Truth
Brady ultimately ‘fessed up that Eli blackmailed Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) into confessing she stabbed Victor (Victor). Needless to say, Lani was shocked and felt totally betrayed. Not only did her husband seal her best friend’s fate and send her to prison, but he kept the entire devious plot from her.
The revelation makes Lani question everything she has with Eli – their love, their trust, their commitment to always being open and honest with one another. There’s only one thing Lani can do: confront Eli with the truth and listen to what he has to say.
Confronting Eli
When she does, Eli explains that he did what he had to do to protect Lani and their family, and he won’t apologize for it. In fact, he insists that it was the right thing to do. But Lani doesn’t see it that way. She’s disgusted with Eli’s lies and duplicitous behavior and tosses him out of their home.
It leaves the expectant mother alone and without the support of the two men she loves most, Eli and Abe. They both kept a devastating secret from her, and she isn’t about to forgive them anytime soon. Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
