Steve and Kayla Johnson’s lives are about to become a whole lot fuller on Days of our Lives when their first-born child arrives back on the scene later this year. Abigail Klein takes on the role of Stephanie Johnson this coming summer, first on Peacock’s Days of our Lives: Beyond Salem, and then on the daily NBC airing.

Meet Days of Our Lives’ New Stephanie

Shelley Hennig previously played the role of Stephanie from 2007-2011, appearing again the last time her parents got married in 2017. Otherwise, she has been a MIA legacy character for much of the last decade with Steve (Stephen Nichols) and Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) only mentioning her but rarely seeing her. We can just assume they have been paying her visits. The last we heard of her, their son, Joey Johnson (James Lastovic) left Salem to live with his sister after getting out of jail.

Klein comes to the role with several credits under her belt, including the TV series There’s Johnny, Aussie Girl, and Ryan Hansen Solves Crimes on Television. She is a relative daytime newcomer, as her only small soap role was playing a nanny on The Young and the Restless back in 2011. You can see the actress having fun at what she calls a dance party photoshoot in this Instagram post.

What Will Stephanie Be Up To?

Klein will be reintroduced to the Salem scene on the show’s Peacock spin-off series Days of our Lives: Beyond Salem and Head Writer Ron Carlivati sees it as a perfect chance to ease her back into the story. We’ll see her first in Beyond Salem,” Carlivati said, according to Soaps.com. “One of the great things about [the spinoff] is that it gives us an opportunity to catch up with people who have left town, given that almost the entire story takes place in these other locations. This is an example of that. It will be interesting to find out where she is in her life and what might bring her back to Salem.”

When we last saw Stephanie, she was involved with several Salem men, including Philip Kiriakis. Will her arrival be something that can bring that character back to town?
