On Days of our Lives, Abe’s life is getting a lot more interesting. On the heels of sitcom icon Jackée Harry joining the show as Lani’s aunt, and someone who may have eyes for the Mayor, a member of his family is coming back to Salem as well.
According to sources of Daytime Confidential, Cameron Johnson is heading back to the canvas as Theo Carver, the son of Abe (James Reynolds) and the late Lexie Carver.
The actor made his initial debut in the role in November, bringing the character back for the first time since Kyler Pettis left in 2018, but his stint lasted for only a handful of episodes as the story dictated Theo leave town again, with his hopping on a plane back to South Africa with JJ Deveraux (Casey Moss).
But Johnson will be back for hopefully a longer stay this time around, airing for the first time on March 8. The character shares a history with Claire (Isabel Durant), Ciara (Victoria Konefal), and his half-sister Lani (Sal Stowers), and with Precious Way coming on board as Harry’s daughter Chanel, there should be plenty to keep Theo occupied this time around.
With Chanel and Theo being close in age, and the fact they have a shared connection through Lani, it seems like an obvious pairing. But his ex, Claire, is recovering from her busted relationship with the late Charlie (Mike Manning), who raped her cousin/pal Allie (Lindsay Arnold).
Plus, don’t forget that Theo has some DiMera blood running in him, so he could embrace that side of his family this time around, which could make for some interesting story.
The character of Theo is best known for having autism and the show’s writers have made that a big part of his story, with Pettis taking home a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Younger Actor for his portrayal.
Theo left town after being shot by rookie cop JJ and becoming paralyzed, so he left for South Africa for treatment. JJ followed a while later to get a new lease on life by joining Theo.
The 21-year-old Johnson has appeared in the horror movie Star Light, guested on The Mick, and is part of a new upcoming Netflix movie, Yes Day, starring Jennifer Garner. Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
