Days of Our Lives Star Martha Madison’s Loving Tribute To TV Mom

Deidre Hall is a Days of Our Lives legend and icon and now her TV daughter, Martha Madison, wants everyone to know a little something about their very special relationship.

The younger actress took to Instagram to post a heartwarming tribute for Woman Crush Wednesday, and we can’t imagine that her words won’t warm a pretend mother’s heart.

“My #wcw is my TV Mama, @deidrehall_official. I’ve watched her play “Marlena” on @nbcdays since 1985, and every day that I’ve gotten to work with her has been a dream come true.”

That dream began in 2004 when Madison took over the role of Belle, Marlena’s youngest daughter, and she’s played her (on and off) ever since. That experience obviously has meant a great deal to the actress, as she goes on to describe their special relationship.

“She is a mentor, a friend and a TV legend. She is also hilarious and real and honest and SO supportive. I feel so lucky to have learned more about life and humor and the industry from her. #Mama #Days #DOOL #Actress #thefutureisfemale 💪🏻👩‍❤️‍👩 ❤️💫”

Madison recently earned a Daytime Emmy pre-nomination for her work this past year that heavily involved Hall. Belle returned to Salem last summer but when her parents’ wedding ceremony was interrupted by Xander’s (Paul Telfer) bullet, everything changed.

Belle found her mother’s do-not-resuscitate order and as her lawyer, felt the need to fight for her mother’s wishes, which put her directly at odds with her father, John (Drake Hogestyn).

It provided Madison with some of her best material and work to date on the show and was professionally gratifying for the actress.

It’s a safe bet to say that Hall’s mentoring has certainly paid off for Madison. The next step for all pre-nominees is to submit a reel to compete for the final nomination round. Then the final nominations will be announced on March 20.
