Deidre Hall has electrified Days of Our Lives (DOOL) ever since she stepped on the set back in 1976 to play Marlena, and now the talented actress is celebrating a very special milestone.
Hall was born on October 31, 1947 — a Halloween baby — in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and is turning 70 years old! She graduated from Lake Worth Community High School and was interested in psychology (that came in handy as Marlena!) before the acting bug bit.
When Marlena was killed off (the first time), the fan backlash was so huge, people picketed the studio. Relief was felt across the land when it turned out the victim was Marlena’s twin — Sam, who was played by Hall’s real-life twin, Andrea.
She left DAYS another time for her own primetime show, Our House.
In addition to many guest spots on comedies, Hall also appeared in the movie, Woman on the Ledge with several fellow daytimers, and in a made-for-TV movie about her own life story called Never Say Never: The Deidre Hall Story.
While she’s known for her long body of work on DAYS, she was actually in the first episode of The Young and the Restless as Barbara. She’s even played a super hero — the title character in Electra Woman and Dyna Girl, where she met future lifelong pal, Jane Elliot (ex-Tracy, General Hospital).
She’s currently divorced but a very proud mother of two sons, David and Tully Sohmer.
Soap Hub wishes Evans, as well as her twin sister, Andrea, a very happy birthday. You can do the same and send her a birthday tweet by clicking the link below.
