The Days of our Lives recap for Thursday, July 4 features a fun, festive, and dramatic Independence Day in Salem. A contest, a fresh start, and shocking encounters turned up the heat.

The Brady Pub was the site of fun and festive cheer. Word spread and all the important players came out. Of course, with some many people, there was bound to be some drama.

Kiss The Cook
Rex (Kyle Lowder) and Eric (Greg Vaughan) had a friendly barbeque competition. The burgers were off the charts but Eric won the contest. And Sarah was the only judge.

It’s Over… For Real This Time
Hope (Kristian Alfonso) overheard Carrie (Christie Clark) talk about being with Rafe (Galen Gearing) and she was none too pleased. It confirmed she made the right decision when she left him. She tracked him down, handed back her ring, and made peace with the breakup.

Why Are YOU Here?
Jen (Melissa Reeves) was thrilled to see Haley (Thia Megia) by her son’s side. Oh, and all the charges are dropped? What great news! The nightmare is over and the young couple can start their life.

Jack (Matthew Ashford) and Eve (Kassie DePaiva)were they shocked to see Haley waltzing about in Salem. Eve already lost a battle to Ben but to lose one to Haley left her bitter.

You’re A Bad Man!
Things went from bad to worse for the couple when Jack was called out on his diary drama. JJ went at him and told him he does not want to be remembered. Jack already did too much damage. The whole encounter left Jack shaken.

Marry Me, Lani!
Eli stole Lani away from the drama for some loving moments alone. On a park bench, with fireworks bursting above them, he got down on one knee. Lani said yes and kissed him with tears in her eyes. Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
