Days of Our Lives fans have been just as upset (well almost) as Chad that Abigail has been gone.
The difference is fans know that Abby is still alive, while Chad thinks she died in a plane crash. All of that will change very soon when Marci Miller takes over the role from Kate Mansi this week. The actress spoke with YahooTV about her return and what it’s like to step into a role made popular by another actress.
Recasts are not always received well on soap operas, but when the character was so beloved – and so missed – it sometimes makes the transition for a new actor to step into the role a bit easier.
“The fans have been so warm, and so welcoming, and there’s really been such a positive foundation that’s been laid with the Abigail character, and the relationship between she and Chad,” Miller told YahooTV.

The character’s “death” on the show was a shocker, and it’s a good guess that her resurrection will be just as surprising for most Salemites, especially for her mother Jennifer (Melissa Reeves), brother JJ (Casey Moss), and loving husband Chad.
In that same article, Miller addresses what it was
In that same article, Miller addresses what it was like in the beginning. “Shock is definitely an understatement.
“They were really interesting first scenes to play, because as an actor, Marci comes to the show, and some of the first encounters that I have with [the cast] are them seeing me for the first time back from the dead.”
The actress first arrives in Salem on November 10. There’s no word on exactly when Chad (Billy Flynn) gets to lay eyes on his “late” wife, but since he’s been growing closer to Gabi (Camila Banus) and even kissed her (okay, so she did that to get him out of a sticky situation – but still!!), chances are it will be a shock well worth the wait!
