The Days of Our Lives (DOOL) recap for Monday, December 25 tugs at the heartstrings as miracles happen all over Salem – but especially in one particular hospital room.
Healing Hearts
Eric (Greg Vaughan) came over and comforted Jennifer (Melissa Reeves), who was worried about JJ. Valerie called and told her Abe went to see JJ. Eric and Jennifer got very close, and he gave her a friendship bracelet to match his own.
Steve (Stephen Nichols) and Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) wished Joey a Merry Christmas on the phone. Both were happy to then see Tripp (Lucas Adams). He thanked Kayla for the second chance.
Roman (Josh Taylor) had to break up yet another Ciara (Victoria Konefal) and Claire (Oliva Rose Keegan) fight and he even made them hug.
The Day After
Lani (Sal Stowers) woke up next to Eli (Lamon Archey) with regrets. He was still furious with Gabi for “sleeping” with JJ. They apologized to each other before she left.
Gabi (Camila Banus) made JJ (Casey Moss) promise once again to get help and handed him the phone. He called Jennifer and said he wanted to talk to Eric about getting counseling. Gabi took his gun to give to Rafe until JJ returns to work.
Gabi then went to Eli, who was cold and accused her of lying and sleeping with JJ. She admitted she stayed with him but nothing happened. As he mouthed off, she let him know JJ wanted to kill himself. Eli felt horrible as she gave him JJ’s gun. He wished her Merry Christmas but Gabi stayed silent.

Lani saw Valerie and told her she did something she shouldn’t have. Eli interrupted before she went into detail and got her alone to warn her that nothing happened between JJ and Gabi. He told her to be there for JJ now – last night never happened.
Moving Forward
Abe (James Reynolds) went to visit JJ and told him about his conversation with his mom. He admitted JJ acted in the moment and was doing his job. He forgave him and apologized for continuing to punish him. Then Abe promised not to stand in his way with Lani too and invited JJ to see Theo.
At the hospital, Jennifer read the Christmas story to the kids as Santa (Eric) arrived. Steve took out his harmonica and the kids started to sing Holy Night.
Abe and JJ arrived, letting Lani and Valerie know he’d forgiven him. They, along with Ciara and Claire, went in. JJ started to tear up and Abe comforted him. Everyone formed a circle around Theo, who stirred and then woke up! A true Christmas miracle!
