Which Couple Will Survive the Orwell Device?

That other Orwell may have been writing about Days of Our Lives when he predicted: All couples are equal, but some couples are more equal than others. Not everyone is going to escape this tale unscathed. Which pairing do you think has the best odds of still clinging together at the end of it? Here’s what almost 8,000 Salem fans think.

Never Crabby, That’s Our Chabby!
Chad and Abby (Marci Miller) survived nutso Ben, evil Andre (Thaao Penghlis), and, you know, death. Is some piddly device really going to break them up? Well 92% of you say no way. Of course, the question was about whether the Orwell device might break them up — it didn’t mention Gabi (Camilla Banus).

When you think your wife is dead, you start acting as if she’s never coming back (yes, yes, foolish in Salem, but Chad (Billy Flynn) is hardly the first to make that rookie error). And when you think she’s isn’t coming back, you start allowing yourself to have feelings for someone else. Like, say, a single mom whose daughter needs a daddy as much as your little boy needs a mommy. And those feelings don’t exactly shut off the second you realize your wife isn’t actually dead. Do they?

Love Is For Grown Ups
This isn’t either Kate’s (Lauren Koslow) or Eduardo’s (A Martinez) first time at the bedroom rodeo. They know how relationships works — and how they don’t work. They went into this thing with their eyes wide open (and reflecting dollar signs). Still 5% of you think if any couple can weather the Orwell storm, these old pros cans.

When They’re Bad, They’re Better
Nicole (Arianne Zuker) and Deimos (Vincent Irizarry) aren’t exactly newbies, either. (Though Deimos does lose a few points for spending the best years of his life in jail — and the best days, too.) They’re also pretty pragmatic. And they have bigger problems. Namely the fact that Nicole currently doesn’t have her baby due to everyone agreeing that Deimos should be nowhere near a child. That has 3% of you thinking they’ll survive Orwell. As for the rest of it… that’s still up in the air.
