Here’s the latest casting update for Days of our Lives; a detailed look at who’s coming and who’s going from the daytime drama. Find out if any of your favorite performers from yesteryear are returning to the soap this week or in the near future.
In a casting shocker, popular leading lady Arianne Zucker is reportedly out as Nicole Walker DiMera, the character she began playing in 1998. In a lawsuit filed against Corday Productions Inc., executive producer Ken Corday, and former co-executive producer Albert Alarr, the actress alleges that when her contract came up for renewal last October, she was presented with a “take it or leave it” offer and effectively terminated in retaliation for filing a complaint against Alarr last year.
A spokesperson for DAYS responded to Zucker’s claims via a statement, noting that “The allegations in Ms. Zucker’s lawsuit are without merit. Corday Productions offered to renew Ms. Zucker’s contract, including offering her a pay increase. Rejecting Ms. Zucker’s counteroffer does not constitute retaliation. Complaints about Mr. Alarr’s on-set behavior were promptly investigated. Corday Productions fully cooperated with the impartial investigation and subsequently terminated Mr. Alarr.”
Although Zucker’s character is currently off the canvas due to the storyline, she will be back. She’ll continue to air for a few months due to the show’s advanced filming schedule.
Finley Rose Slater makes another appearance as Rachel Black. She airs on Thursday, February 15 in scenes with her TV parents, Eric Martsolf’s Brady and Stacy Haiduk’s Kristen.
