The week of August 31, 2020
In a major casting move, Alison Sweeney is returning as Sami Brady; albeit this time she’ll be sticking around for a lengthy storyline. Sweeney will report back to the NBC soap, when it resumes production in September. Her scenes will begin airing later this full and continue running through most of 2021.
It’s deja vu all over again. Marci Miller steps back into the role of Abigail Deveraux DiMera on Friday, September 4, once again replacing actress Kate Mansi. Miller originally portrayed the character from 2016 to 2018.

Lucas Adams resurfaces as Tripp Dalton, Steve’s (Stephen Nichols) son with the late Ava (Tamara Braun), on Friday, September 4.
After a few weeks off the canvas, Eric Martsolf is back as Brady Black on Monday, August 31, to visit his ailing father John (Drake Hogestyn). The character left town in late June to be with Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) and their baby daughter, Rachel.
Meanwhile, Haiduk pops back in as Kristen DiMera on Thursday, September 3 to offer her support to Brady.
Chandler Massey and Freddie Smith depart the soap as Will and Sonny on Tuesday, September 1, when their characters relocate to Arizona with their daughter Arianna.
