Casting For The Week of  June 17, 2024

Find out if any of your favorite actors and actresses from yesteryear are returning to the shows you watch, if any newcomers have been cast in contract, recurring, or day-player roles, or if any performers are set to make their exit.

General Hospital

After a long medical leave, John J. York returns to GH as Mac Scorpio. The popular character has been out of town on a business matter since last October, while York has been receiving treatment for blood and bone marrow disorders. Mac finally resurfaces on Wednesday, June 19, in scenes with his onscreen “daughter” Maxie (Kirsten Storms).

Blogger Perez Hilton will be making a guest appearance in Port Charles. The soap recently shared the news on its social media platforms, posting: “Breaking News. A very inquisitive guest swung by Port Charles today. We can’t wait for you to see what Perez Hilton has in store for General Hospital. Stay tuned!”

Kin Shriner pops in as Scott Baldwin on Tuesday, June 18. The attorney will confer with his longtime pal and client, Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring).

Days of our Lives

Another week, another return over at DAYS, only this time, there are three of them. After a long absence, Matthew Ashford resurfaces for a story arc as Jack Deveraux. Look for the character to surprise Chad (Billy Flynn) and Julie (Susan Seaforth Hayes) with a visit on Tuesday, June 18. Ashford made his last appearance on the soap in March 2023.

Sal Stowers and Lamon Archey are also back as supercouple Lani and Eli Grant. The pair arrive in Salem on Wednesday, June 19, to help celebrate Paulina (Jackée Harry) and Abe’s (James Reynolds) wedding anniversary. The two actors made their last visit to the soap last March.

The aforementioned duo also have their cute twins in tow. Dion and Raegan Yancy share the duties of young Jules, while Zyair and Zamir Ashford split time as her brother, Carver.

Viewers will catch their first glimpse of actress AnnaLynne McCord this week. She’s the new mystery that may or may not turn out to be the believed dead Abigail.

Doug Simpson pops in as Mr. Mooney on Wednesday, June 19. He’ll play an employee at a bank in Chicago who interacts with Chad and Julie.

On the exit front, John Kapelos’ run as the manipulative Konstantin Meleounis has wrapped. The scoundrel met his demise last week when he was shot and killed by Xander (Paul Telfer).

The Bold and the Beautiful

Sitcom star Tom Arnold, remembered from his role as Arnie on Roseanne, is heading to B&B. The actor has been tapped for a guest spot on the soap as Captain Deuce Stevens, the Forresters’ new pilot. He’ll air in late July when the fashion family heads to Monte Carlo. Arnold will share scenes with Thorsten Kaye’s Ridge, Katherine Kelly Lang’s Brooke and Jacqueline MacInnes Wood’s Steffy. This isn’t Arnold’s first daytime stint. In 1994, he played Billy “Baggs” Boggs on GH alongside his then-wife, Roseanne Barr, who portrayed Jennifer Smith.

Clint Howard gets more screen time as Tom. The new Il Giardino delivery man appears on Thursday, June 20 and Friday, June 21.

In addition, the show is looking to cast a new contract role. A call has gone out for Sabrina, a strong, sophisticated leading lady, who is 45 to 50 years old.

The Young and the Restless

Some family members are heading home on Y&R. Reylynn Caster is finally back as Faith Newman, Nick (Joshua Morrow) and Sharon’s (Sharon Case) daughter. She’ll share scenes with her TV parents, Camryn Grimes’ Mariah and Cait Fairbanks’ Tessa. The actress hasn’t been seen on screen since June of 2023.

In addition, Paxton Mishkind returns as Johnny Abbott, Billy (Jason Thompson) and Victoria’s (Amelia Heinle) son. He’ll interact with Thompson, Heinle and Hayley Erin’s Claire. Mishkind made his last appearance in May 2023.

Johnny’s sister, Katie Abbott, is also back. The role is being played once again by Sienna Mercuri.

Gina Garcia-Sharp reappears as Anna on Monday, June 17. She’ll be involved in a meeting with Trevor St. John’s Tucker and Zuleyka Silver’s Audra.

Marc Forget pops in as a doctor. He’ll treat an ailing Tucker on Monday, June 17.
