There was a time when Days Of Our Lives was awash in DiMeras. Tony (Taao Penghlis) came first, then the OG himself, Stefano (Joseph Mascolo). We had Renee, and Megan, and Benjy, and Andre, and Lexie, and Theo (Kyler Pettis), and Kristen (Eileen Davidson) and Peter, and Chad (Billy Flynn), and EJ (James Scott), plus spouses like Anna (Leann Hunley), and Sami (Alison Sweeney), and Abigail (Kate Mansi). (Phew, that’s a lot.)
But, these days, Stefan (Brandon Barash) appears to be carrying the load all on his own – well, Tony is there, too, but who knows how long that will last? Should Salem see a mass return? What almost 12,000 viewers had to say about the possibility:
Split Decision
It was super close but, when push came to shove, 51% of you went with yes, bring back Salem’s first family of evil! You realize that Mascolo is dead, but you want to see more of the second generation.
Chad should come back to fight Stefan for… everything. And then EJ can return to vanquish them both. Theo is needed in the young adult scene.
And what about Peter? Jennifer (Melissa Reeves) is up for grabs now that Eve (Kassie DePaiva) has destroyed the last of Jack’s (Matthew Ashford) memory serum. We can always use more hot men on the canvas. (Ok, maybe not the Peter/Jennifer reunion part.)
By a Nose
Then again, 49% of the audience is just as content to keep them in Italy…or wherever. Kristen (Stacey Haiduk) is currently causing enough problems, thank you very much. And Stefan has been eating up enough airtime with his marriage to Gabi (Camilla Banus) — and being arrested for murder, kidnapping, and treason he didn’t commit.
Actually, Gabi is now technically a DiMera too, isn’t she? That could be good. Who needs Sami or Abigail when the woman who has long vexed them both is in charge — and in a place of power? Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
