Uh-Oh!!! Trouble Ahead! Could Tripp Topple the Johnsons on Days of Our Lives?

The addition of Tripp, Steve and the late Ava’s long lost son on Days of Our Lives (DOOL), started out as well as it could have given his origins (his mama was psycho!) But Tripp wanting to avenge his late mother’s death could cause the Johnson family to collapse!

For now, Tripp (Lucas Adams) believes that Kayla is responsible for Ava’s demise. (Thanks, Jade!) And as bad as that is, things could get even worse if Tripp discovers the truth — that his half-brother, Joey, is the one who’s really the reason Ava’s gone to that great soap opera in the sky.

Ironically, Tripp and Kayla were on their way to having a fairly good relationship before Jade put the wrong idea in the confused young man’s head! Can it be salvaged?

Kayla’s Not Tripping Over Tripp
“I don’t mind so much that Steve had a baby,” Mary Beth Evans (Kayla) tells Soap Hub, in character. “I don’t mind where he came from, and I really make an overture towards Tripp, but there’s the threat that [if he discovers that Joey killed Ava] then he’ll turn him in.”

The Calm Before the Storm
Evans is staying mum on exactly what’s happening next but she does preview that her upcoming material is not to be missed!

“We have some of the greatest scenes I think I’ve ever been in coming up in this story,” the Emmy-winner shares. “The conflict of it is almost like a mother lioness (protecting her cub).

“The whole storyline has conflict — Kayla’s conflict with her husband, her son, the new son in the family. She prides herself on being this solid person and there’s a great storyline coming (where she’ll be challenged).”

While it’s certainly believable that Steve fathered a child during his years away from Salem, let’s not forget that Kayla, too, was away from town. Maybe she also had a love child in the intervening years?

“Wouldn’t that be something?” Evans says, adding there are all kinds of familial dramas that could be explored. “Maybe Kayla’s father, Shawn, had a love child and he brought me home to the Bradys and Caroline raised me as her own?”
