Will DAYS’ Nicole Walker DiMera Make This Mistake With Her Baby’s DNA Test?

Nicole Walker DiMera took one look at Sloan and Eric’s newly adopted baby boy on Days of our Lives and instantly knew the as-yet-unnamed tot was her presumed dead son. Eric was sympathetic but denied it emphatically. EJ was loving, but told Nicole she needed to let it go. Nicole refused to let it go.

Nicole Walker DiMera: Do It Yourself

If Eric (Greg Vaughan) and EJ (Dan Feuerriegel) won’t listen to her instincts, then Nicole (Arianne Zucker) will find the truth out on her own. Well, with the help of her daughter. Holly (Ashley Puzemis) ran to Eric to beg for a DNA test (read about that here) in an attempt to put her mom’s mind at rest.

Grabbing a cheek swab from the baby should be no sweat. Newborns drool over everything. Sloan (Jessica Serfaty) and Eric are likely covered in DNA by now, as is anyone who sets foot inside their home. (Which they are already baby-proofing. For a child who can’t walk, roll over, sit, or even lift his head.) The big question is; will it prove the child belongs to Nicole?

Mix and Match

Getting the baby’s spit? Easy. Now whom to type it against? Nicole is the obvious person. She’s the mother, and she certainly has access to her own cheek cells. But, Nicole has a tendency to be her own worst enemy, and she also thinks she’s smarter than she actually is.

Nicole will inevitably overthink this. She knows EJ will have a hard time believing her conclusions, even with a DNA test. So, instead of testing the little guy’s genes against her own, she’ll do it against EJ’s. That way, when he sees the proof in black and white, he’ll be as irate as Nicole, and go rushing over to Sloan and Eric’s to reclaim their son.

Wrong Again

Of course, we know something Nicole doesn’t. EJ isn’t the biological father, Eric is. The DNA test will be negative and Nicole’s dreams will be dashed. This will cause hurdle after hurdle for Nicole to prove what’s true in her heart. That baby belongs to her but it may take years to find a way to get him back — legally, at least.
