Marlena, Kayla, and Kate are presumed dead by their loved ones on Days of our Lives. We’ve lost track of which time it is for each of them. Their men, John, Steve, and Roman are very, very sad. Kayla’s funeral was even scheduled for the day after her wedding anniversary. Ouch.
Days of our Lives Forever
Steve (Stephen Nichols) was particularly sad about that. But then he fell asleep. And Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) came to him. Kate (Lauren Koslow) was able to contact Roman (Josh Taylor). Marlena (Deidre Hall) finally used the wind to deliver a message to John (Drake Hogestyn) yesterday. So apparently, you can do that. Not just from Heaven, but from Hell, too. Who knew? Which led us to think…why couldn’t they all do that?
DOOL: Death Is Just a Temporary Condition
Sure, no one is ever really most sincerely dead in Salem. But we do have to wonder: Why did Marlena, Kayla, and Kate get to negotiate their return? But, say, Abigail (Marci Miller) and Adrienne (Judi Evans) are still dead?
How about some equity? Let everyone (who wants to) return. But have them do it the same way Kayla did. In dreams, as ghosts, in waking visions. It’s the fair thing to do.

Days of our Lives: Excuses, Excuses
Chad (Billy Flynn) needs permission to mack on Stephanie (Abigail Klein)? Why, look — here’s Abigail to tell him to go ahead! Roman forgets where the potato masher is at The Pub (what? when has he had more story than that?) — here’s Kate with directions! Sarah (Linsey Godfrey) should be able to raise her stillborn baby.
The point is, if the curtain between the living and the netherworld is as opaque as Kayla and the rest made it seem, then everyone should be able to access their loved ones.
