It seems rather odd that no one on Days of our Lives has questioned Sarah Horton’s whereabouts since she left. Didn’t she supposedly run off with Rex Brady? While that may have quelled any panic at the time, surely, someone has since talked to Rex and people have to wonder why Sarah has spent the better part of a year in radio silence.
We can certainly understand Xander Cook (Paul Telfer) not exactly caring if Sarah (Linsey Godfrey) ever picks up the phone again. She broke his heart into a million pieces. As far as he knows, she cheated on him on their wedding day and then dumped him. His perfect Sarah turned into quite a monster and he is sure it’s over.
What about the rest of Sarah’s friends and family, though? Shouldn’t Maggie Horton Kiriakis (Suzanne Rogers) be in a bit of a panic about not hearing from her only living biological daughter? Sarah should be on her mind especially now that she’s lost Summer. It seems a bit odd Maggie wouldn’t try to reach out and let Sarah know her sister is dead.
Even if we can look past Maggie’s indifference, you would think Victor Kiriakis (John Aniston) would try to call her home. Maggie needs all the love and support she can get and Victor would want Sarah around for her sake. But, alas, he couldn’t be bothered. Maybe he’s too ashamed about the baby Mickey fiasco. Or, maybe he doesn’t want her around with Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) facing all those charges.
That covers the family, but what about Sarah’s friends? Kayla Johnson (Mary Beth Evans) adored her fellow doctor Sarah and loved being her boss. Sure, Sarah left abruptly but she’s not the first and won’t be the last to do a midnight move and leave the hospital in the lurch. Kayla’s not one to hold grudges. Shouldn’t she be wondering what happened to her friend?
This indifference to Sarah’s long-ago departure simply does not sit right with us and we’re not sure how these key Salemites are so blasé. Perhaps it’s time someone gets a clue and realizes what’s really going on. Maybe a call from Kate Roberts (Lauren Koslow) to Rex (Kyle Lowder) will do the trick. Or, a jaw-dropping secret coming to light via Kristen. Either way, it’s high time this secret finally explodes and Sarah comes home.
